Course on short circuit computation in power systems

This course will present the fundamental concepts on short circuit currents and connection of electrical machines to power networks. Illustrative examples will develop as well.
Research topics:
- *Steady-state: Load flows, analysis of power system constraints, optimal load flows, voltage control ancilliary service,short-circuits, protections in transmission and ditribution networks
- *Electromagnetic Transients: Lightning and switching overvoltages in overhead and GIS substations, location of surge arresters
